Our kitchen is now 85% cleaned up and when I walk into it first thing in the morning and it doesn’t look like a tornado went through it, I sigh with such relief.
I’ve been cleaning my apartment and trying to put together my plan for the future in a way that makes sense and feels right, but I got distracted by something that pulled me away from what I was originally thinking which made me nervous, then I veered in a completely different direction from that which turned out to be back to where I wanted to be and brought everything together nicely I think. So at least for today I feel much more relaxed about it. It’s still a little weird and who knows if it will work out at all but I want to at least try.
I have wandered into the world of solo journaling RPGs…
I’m thinking of maybe trying D&D or any TTRPG as a way of working through my social anxiety. I’ve been trying to get more into gaming (video, board, card, etc) as part of stress/anxiety management and D&D type games actually sound great since I love writing and storytelling. It seems like a really fun thing to do in the winter while sitting next to a fireplace and drinking hot chocolate.
Additional thoughts to my tags on my previous reblog: I’m most likely neurodivergent and I had a terrible year full of very bad communication with a man and now I watch Honor Among Thieves like ok Xenk is the complete opposite of that man and is the one I would want to talk to.
Also we’re alike and he has qualities I admire and want to develop. “Talking to you isn’t great” is probably something that would be thought about me too, though he handles it way better than me. Which brings us back to how I would love to talk to him about that.
This is where I leave you. I wish you every success on your journey.
While the CDC has given up on providing any guidance on risk control measures for covid, The People’s CDC is filling the gap and continuing to track and update guidance as the situation evolves. Here’s where you can download their Safer In-person Gatherings Toolkit:
Here’s an extremely detailed guide on what to do if you have covid that includes how long to isolate for, how to set up your house with hepa filters and ventilation, what supplies to have on hand, when to go to the hospital, and guidelines on how to pace from the MEAction Network in the event you end up with long covid:
The work these guys are doing is amazing. They’re still tracking wastewater data too so you can still figure out transmission levels in your area and not just the hospitalization levels. Check them out!

The Buried and the Bound by Rochelle Hassan and the cover by Helen Mask are definitely on my favorites of 2023 list! If you love magical trios and stories like Labyrinth, I highly recommend this book! The second book in this trilogy, The Summer Queen, is coming out in January 2024.
